‘Far From Home’

An exhibition featuring artwork by refugees living in Leeds.

Siamak Faroutan, Iran

Mahsa Rahbari, Iran

Dereje Kebede, Ethiopia

Each of these artists came to the UK under difficult circumstances.  As exhibiting artists in their own countries, they expressed their ideas, opinions and feelings in ways that others were unable to.  Since arriving in the UK, they have all studied at the Leeds College of Art.

This collection is inspiring and thought-provoking and is a rare chance to see art by refugee artists living in the UK, far from home,  unable to protest at the frontline.

The exhibition will be held at:

Swarthmore Education Centre

2 – 7 Woodhouse Square, Leeds, LS3 1AD

14th – 20th June 2010

Mon – Thurs 9:30 – 8:00

Fri: 9:30 – 3:30

Sat/Sun: 9:30 – 3:00
